Any size garden can attract and support pollinators, even a well planted container garden or window box.
Since we are wanting to attract pollinators be sure to choose plants they love to feed on, take shelter in, and lay their eggs on. Plant a wide variety of plants to provide season long succession of blooms for food.
Many pesticides, even organic ones are toxic to birds, bees and butterflies. If you use pesticides nearby make sure you apply them carefully and selectively. To protect pollinators, do not use pesticides on open blossoms or when pollinators are present.
Bees, birds and butterflies all need water. A simple bird bath or catch basin for rain does the job. B sure to clean it out regularly to reduce mosquito larvae.
